After a few down days waiting out weather, it looks like we’ll finally get a crack at Mount Adams.  This mountain promises to be a beast.

The mountain boasts some impressive statistics.  At 12,281′ in elevation, it is the third highest mountain in the Cascade range.  In terms of volume it is second only to Mount Shasta, measuring in at 85 cubic miles!  Not to mention the peak is covered with 6.2 miles of glacial ice.

Meanwhile, in the Davenport Camp, there is no news, except to clarify the team goals.   The Denver Post gave a quick update: http://blogs.denverpost.com/sports/2012/05/03/chris-davenport-skiing-ring-fire-14-volcanoes-18-days/21507/#comments.  Davenport announced that his team will attempt 14 peaks in 18 days, an impressive feat indeed considering the stormy spring weather that typifies the Pacific Northwest.

Until the next down day…
